Senior Automation QA Engineer 12+ months Contract Location: Nearshore ideally Costa Rica – Open for Canada- but must work EST hours Role Summary About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Automation QA Engineer to build and maintain automated testing solutions across modern web applications. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright Build reusable, scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and regression testing Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure test coverage and quality Identify, document, and track defects with clear and actionable detail Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and QA strategy discussions Required Skills & Experience 3+ years of experience in automation testing or SDET roles Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (TypeScript or JavaScript ideal; Python or C# also acceptable) Experience with API testing (Postman, REST client libraries, or equivalent tools) Familiarity with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.) Solid understanding of testing methodologies, automation patterns, and SDLC Strong debugging skills and the ability to analyze application behavior Nice-to-Have Experience with additional automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO, etc.) Experience with performance testing tools (k6, JMeter) Exposure to containerization or cloud platforms Background in building test frameworks from the ground up Thanks and Regards, Mamta Giri Sr.
