As a Senior Human Services Program Specialist, you will serve as part of a team of regional victim advocates across the state.QualificationsEight (8) years of experience in social work or victim services, probation and parole, claims or benefits eligibility determination.A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for four (4) years of the required work experience.A master's degree in a related field can substitute for six years of the required experience.Preference May Be Given To Applicants WithAt least two years’ experience providing direct services to crime victims.Experience working with crime victims in the court process.Familiar with the principles and techniques of effective crisis intervention.Strong interpersonal skills and are comfortable with public speaking, and can work independently and effectively manage time while completing a variety of tasks.The Work You Will Do:This position’s duties include but not limited to the following:Provides appellate notification and explains court decisions, court documents and provides court accompaniment to victims and next of kin in assigned district courts of appeal, circuit court and the Florida Supreme Court.Enters and tracks victim information into the criminal appellate database, works as a liaison with the State Attorney’s Office (SAO) to obtain accurate victim information, trains SAO advocates and other allied professionals on the criminal appellate process and other duties necessary related to the criminal appellate process.Analyze victims’ compensation claims through the VAN and VANNext systems in order to assist both victims of crime and victim compensation analysts with cla...
