Software Engineer, DevOps

Summary: We are seeking a software-first DevOps Engineer with a strong engineering foundation. Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain automated systems and tooling using code-first approachesDevelop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that improve developer velocity and system reliabilityWrite clean, maintainable Python code for automation, tooling, and backend-style systemsWork extensively in Linux environments, including Bash/shell scripting and system-level developmentBuild, deploy, and support containerized applications using Docker and KubernetesManage and evolve cloud infrastructure, primarily in AWSDefine and maintain Infrastructure as Code using TerraformPartner closely with software engineers, data engineers, and platform teams to support evolving systems and workflowsContribute to improving operational maturity, reliability, and developer experienceRequirementsAdvanced education is a plus; PhD preferredStrong Python development experience, especially for automation, tooling, or backend systemsSolid Linux development experience, including Bash/shell scripting and system-level understandingProven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar) - this is a baseline expectationHands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS (other cloud providers acceptable)Experience building and supporting containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes; Deeper Kubernetes expertise is expected for senior-level candidatesStrong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, particularly TerraformStrong research skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to rapidly learn new technologies and domains are highly valuedDemonstrated ability to solve problems through code, not just configure or operate existing toolsNice-to-Have:Exposure to or interest in Databricks (depth not required; c...
