This role requires building automation capabilities from the ground up, embedding testing into CI/CD pipelines, and taking ownership of automation execution across the QE function while remaining actively hands-on.Key Responsibilities:- Lead and execute QA automation efforts for large-scale e-commerce applications supporting high-traffic, transactional workflows.Design, build, and maintain automation test suites from scratch, including UI, API, and end-to-end coverage.- Convert manual testing workflows into scalable, maintainable automated tests.- Implement end-to-end automation integrated with microservices-based CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous deployment.- Integrate automation suites with GitLab CI/CD, including parallel execution and pipeline-level quality gates.- Collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.- Define and enforce automation standards, test strategy, and coverage expectations.- Provide hands-on guidance and support to QE engineers on automation implementation.- Drive shift-left testing practices and early defect detection.- Ensure automation stability, reliability, and fast feedback in CI pipelines.- Take full ownership of automation implementation, maintenance, and outcomes.- Hands-on ownership of smoke test automation and load/performance testing, including executing dry runs in production environments as needed to validate system readiness and stability.- Build, maintain, and support synthetic monitoring using observability platforms such as New Relic, Datadog, or equivalent, and participate in on-call support rotations as required to ensure system health and rapid issue response.
